The town of Mystic Falls has a new generation of protectors in this spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals." The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted is home to Klaus Mikaelson's daughter Hope, Alaric Saltzman's twins Lizzie and Josie, and other young adults who are coming of age as witches, vampires and werewolves, nurtured to be their best selves and overcome their villainous impulses. Together, they rely on ancient folklore and tales to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies and attempt to keep balance in the world.

"Kai Parker Screwed Us," brought us the beloved character's return, and he is every bit as dastardly as we remember him to be - Wood slips flawlessly back into the role. Go to Full Review

"I'll Never Give Up Hope" was the worst episode of the series. For a show that had so much going for it last season, I hoped the premiere would expand the mythology in a way that would make it worthwhile. Go to Full Review

Rowan C @RowanC3 11/20/2024 I think that this season is just as good as the first season, with a few things better. Hope returns to Mystic Falls with no one remembering who she is and the whole season is based off of Malivore monsters again. We got to see Freya make a return for a very emotional scene, when she remembers that Hope is her family. The monsters were very cool in this season, and Hope ended up with Landon again because Landon chose Hope over Josie. I would say that the season finale was not that good, but the rest of the season was pretty good. Overall, this season is a little better than the first and I would say that it is worth the watch. See more 04/02/2021 It's an absolute must watch Series. The story line is absolutely amazing. Love this show. Very excited to watch more seasons of this show. See more 03/26/2021 What in the actual fuck are they trying to create? Legacies? More like teen drama and their fairy tale life. No plot makes sense. Had high hopes for this one based on The Originals. I am sure that Nik would feel so pathetic that his daughter Hope turned out to be someone who is always chasing after a guy with whom she has no chemistry. She was supposed to be someone special but now she's just someone who is either trying to be The Hero or a Guy Chaser. And Landon, the focal point of the story gets such slow character development. He gets his power while kissing? He faces demons and what not but he gets his power while kissing? And he chases the same girl over and over again like he is destined to be with her. He got Josie with whom he had perfect chemistry but once Hope came back obviously the chemistry is gonna go bye-bye. How convenient. And, if they use a part of Landon then someone else can also be reborn? At least try to fill in the blanks, don't just throw it in there for the sake of the plot. Lizzie is the most hypocritical person and has no character development. Poor Josie is always used as the scapegoat and no one notices her selfless acts. Raf keeps having episodes after episodes but no context is given. And what the fuck is up with Vampires getting chained up? They can break the chains. Did the writers even saw Vampire Diaries and The Originals? Kai just sits there being chained up even though he's a vamp and a witch. The one who shoots the golden arrow hits Dorian and just runs instead of using the arrow again. The Necromancer apparently can only summon the dead instead of helping Kai during the whole thing. They forget about the ancient witch Freya but call Emma from Japan to help. I don't know how people are enjoying this. There are too many plotholes and irrelevant stuff and I think they can't really figure out which direction they should take. I wonder if the actors are working just for the money or do they think that they are actually created something epic. See more 02/16/2021 Love how they always seem to keep it fresh and interesting See more jon c 01/21/2021 the 2nd spin-off of the 'Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' returns for a 2nd outing Season 1 introduced a new generation of supernatural youths from vampires, witches, werewolves and everything in between even fan-favorite Alaric Saltzman came back to act as the head director of the Salvatore School and Klause's daughter Hope along with Caroline's Gemini twin daughters, Josie and Lizzie Hope was drawn to a mysterious boy named Landon whom had nowhere else to turn and after encountering a magical dagger brought a series of other-worldly creatures to the school turns out Landon was a new kind of being who after each time he died he came back to life and Hope was a triad, the first of her kind being a mix of vampire, witch, and werewolf combined all of it lead to the most powerful creature named Malivore (Landon's father) beginning to rise up and bring about the end of days so Hope made the ultimate sacrifice by diving into the dark pit to save everyone but at the expense of erasing her existence entirely Season 2 now has everyone completely forget her altogether with the students heading off to summer vacation, Landon feels like there's a void he needs to fill up, Lizzie and Josie find out about the Ascendant hidden from their father because they worry about the merge they may have to do by the time they turn 22 Clark aka Landon's brother was trapped in the black void like Hope but he was given a second chance to prove his worth so now he's unleashed a new horde of creatures onto Mystic Falls along with mysterious figures in red cloaks Hope continues to hunt down dangerous monsters and she starts by going to Mystic Falls high school...where this entire series began! A new headmaster takes over the Salvatore institution since he believes Alaric wasn't capable of keeping the students safe, he also tries to make Josie to rely more on her powers showing the student body's superiority Lizzie starts seeing a new vampire named Sebastian but the thing is that she's the only one who can see him There's even a cool 1980s throwback episode incorporating everything of the decade from the synthesizer music to the arcade game sound effects to the fashion trends, it's cute and fun Plus there's a fun storyline about one of the characters creating a world in their subconscious based on classic fairytales from Snow White to Little Red Riding Hood to the Three Little Pigs Another familiar face, Freya from ‘The Originals' makes an appearance to help Josie as well as the return of Kai Parker from ‘Vampire Diaries ‘ Landon discovers more of his Phoenix abilities yet Hope can't help but worry about a deadly prophecy that might cost him his life being immortal means being lonely, being lonely means being hopeless, sometimes you have to take a risk to be imperfect, is it better to have loved and lost than never to at all, what do you do and where do you go maybe it doesn't matter as long as you're going somewhere, there's always someone telling what women are supposed to do, women hurting other women just gets tiring, maybe we don't exist for just one path, everyone deserves to know the truth and make their own choices even if it hurts, moving on isn't easy and it means letting things go, are heroes never the ones left standing?, The cliffhanger has Josie and Lizzie try the merge but it's unsuccessful as Josie is still carrying the darkness within her Hope is trapped inside her mind hoping to reach her while navigating through a fairy tale like realm The Necromancer also possesses Landon's friend to throw him off and raise Malivore from the pit This season is abrupt ending halfway through but Alaric and the others are determined to save them both I'm hopeful that more episodes are on the way to tell more of this new generation of supernatural youths See more Micah C @micahcreech1 01/02/2021 This season of Legacies brought us the romance and sappy ness we loved in the Originals and The Vampire Diaries. It gave us better friendships than we had in the first season. It kept the dark attitude that was in the ancestor shows. Legacies season 2 was a lot more than the monsters it was about the relationships that the kids made and to just remember to keep them close at all cost. See more Read all reviews
