This series surprised me. I binged 3 episodes last night.The cast and acting is excellent and the writing is balanced. Character development was quick and very well done. Since I grew in in Orange County like Michelle Pfieffer, it was interesting to see locations i recognized from the italian restaurant in Fullerton to the car wash from Huntington Beach.

I didn't expect much from this series—I mainly came for Elle Fanning. At the time of writing this review, there are three episodes out: The Hungry Ghost, Homecoming, and Jinxed. The debut doesn't waste any time; everything unfolds as expected, but not in a cliché way. Margo, a university student, is infatuated with her literature professor, and they end up in bed together. She gets pregnant and is determined to keep the baby. The dynamic between Margo and her mother is intriguing. The series captures a common mother-daughter relationship, especially when the father figure is mostly absent. It shows that these relationships shouldn't always be judged by how affectionate they are. Instead, it encourages us to realize that a mother-daughter bond can be filled with arguments and dysfunction, yet somehow remain functional.

So far I'm loving it Michelle Pfeiffer perfect Nick Offerman what a great character he's built could have easily gone wrong & I truly enjoy Elle Fanning performance & the writing for her character is brilliant David E Kelley has another hit on his hand!

It’s already a diva-off between the Elle’s (Michelle & Elle!) and apparently Nicole Kidman is also in the show… so many Emmys options here. Really fabulous cast and writing.
