Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding head of the Inhuman royal family and King of Attilan, possesses a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After a military coup splinters the family, the group -- which includes Black Bolt's wife, Medusa; his brother and rival, Maximus; his cousins Karnak, Gorgon and Triton; and Medusa's sister, Crystal -- barely manages to escape to Hawaii, where surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Marvel's Inhumans sets a new low standard for the MCU with an unimaginative narrative, dull design work, weak characters, and disengaging soapy melodrama.

Do not spend any of your limited time on this planet watching this show. If you have a superpower, use it to race away from Inhumans faster than the speed of light. Go to Full Review

[It's a] dull [slog] overall. Go to Full Review

The new actioner, which premiered last night, smacks of a project that came about after someone from ABC went to Marvel's offices, poked around the cupboards and mumbled, "Sooo . . . what else you got in here?" Go to Full Review

It has hopeful and even good points, but these derive more from the use of the "magical Marvel makeup" that surrounds all its series and movies, than from the quality of the production itself. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Really dull, has the feel of a cheap 90s TV show and has a cast of characters that are somehow less charismatic and interesting than the mute emotionless leader they follow. Go to Full Review

While Inhumans had some rocky points (what pilot doesn't?), there were beautiful moments that make me want to continue watching. Go to Full Review

Bill G. @1234554321 Jan 28 1/2 star (I would prefer to give it -5 stars; yes NEGATIVE five(5) stars). Thank goodness there was never a second season; talking about a waste of time and money (that would have been, also). See more Hughe J @Hughe Jul 25 Marvel's Inhumans was released in 2017 and only one season was filmed. It starred Anson Mount, Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan and other character actors I didn't recognize. The basic premise is that the Inhumans live on a secret island and to get super powers they walk through a mysterious mist and poof, super person. I remember reading a few of their comics when I was a kid so was interested seeing what Marvel would do with these characters. The answer was very little. The show was just dull. I liked Lockjaw, the giant dog, but other than that I didn't care for any of the characters. I also didn't like the plot, or the SFX, or the costumes, come to think of it the acting consisted of people making mean faces at each other while speaking like they were still in rehearsal. Yeah, this was just terrible all around. See more Matthew A @RetroAshe02 Mar 5 I enjoyed this series, though could have much better be produced. These characters did not receive the story line they deserved. See more Tomas S Feb 20 An insult to the viewer and the fans who wanted to see these characters on the big screen who are reduced in a poorly written and poorly executed series. Maximus, played by Iwan Rheon, and Lockjaw are the only characters worth watching, the others are forgettable. See more Khaztiel D @khaztielddenver_ 08/31/2024 Un diferente enfoque hubiera captado más mi atención. See more Vitoria F 07/09/2024 The visual effects, with more ambition than budget, were far inferior to Agents of Shield. The plot is the kind that is hard to make a success of. On one side, an oppressive royal family. On the other, a tyrannical liberator. Both are bad, so neither generates sympathy in the viewer. Without anyone to root for, the story becomes boring to watch. The only good characters are the humans of Earth, which makes it confusing why the Inhumans fear them so much. See more Read all reviews
