Elizabeth McGovern plays Lady Cora on historical drama series "Downton Abbey." In this docuseries, she explores lives of young American heiresses who inspired the popular program, specifically those between the 1870s and the start of World War I. During that period, more than 200 daughters of U.S. millionaire families married into British aristocracy, providing cash to crumbling English manors but gaining peerage titles for the ladies. McGovern also tours Highclere Castle, the setting of fictional Downton.
