That frilly sugar-and-spice title notwithstanding, this reality series follows privileged 15-year-olds, usually girls but there is an occasional guy featured, and their friends as they obsessively plan their Sweet 16 parties, which almost invariably feature an orgy of conspicuous consumerism excess not seen since the heyday of "Dynasty." More recent episodes expand beyond Sweet Sixteens to include Quinceaneras, debutante balls, "Bro Mitzvahs" and more.
