The couples in this real-life series are average suburbanites in every way but one: they are swingers. The series profiles many residents of a seemingly ordinary Ohio neighborhood that has become a home to the controversial lifestyle. Some on the block believe swinging strengthens their union, but others try to warn potential recruits against the consequences along with its disregard for the sanctity of marriage. Episodes follow participants -- parents, professionals, soccer moms and little league coaches -- as they court prospective partners and deal with potential pitfalls, proving that it's not without challenges and possible personal devastation.

When the shock wears off, most viewers will remember that they're already committed to series with which they have much more satisfying and meaningful relationships, and they won't stray toward Neighbors With Benefits again.

I applaud people putting themselves out there. I recognize there are a whole lot of pitfalls in this lifestyle. When I say pitfalls I think that this would take an enormous amount of trust, self-confidence in yourself and marriage. I don't think the majority of people have the ability for self awareness and honesty with themselves and others to successfully navigate this lifestyle. Watching the first season has pretty much confirmed my thoughts that this is not a viable way to enrich your marriage.
