The show has done an immense disservice to this character (Roger) in this final episode. Ian is a "Man of Worth" in this episode, but Roger is not.

What happened on the show, in the end, felt kind of pointless.

Outlander writers had a lot of material to get through in Season 4 - and a lot to get through in the finale alone.

Those back-to-back scenes with Murtagh and Jocasta? WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION ALONE.

Saying farewell to his family in favor of exploring a new life elsewhere is still an incredibly bittersweet scene in the finale, in part thanks to the wonderful performance of the talented John Bell as Not-So-Young-Anymore Ian.

Jamie look[s] at him with such loathing that it completely satisfied my unrequited disgust with Roger from last week.

This season has had plenty of standout acting moments - but this intricate dance between Claire, Jamie, and Roger is a particular highlight.

I didn't realize how much I missed that series - the one that offers bodice-ripping romance through a feminist lens - until this episode.

Claire's darting in for a last-second goodbye reminded us that she was practically demoted to a supporting act for large stretches of this season.

This season has been sprawling and unfocused, and it unsurprisingly culminates in a sprawling and unfocused finale.

'Man of Worth' was an uneven end to an uneven season.
