QD Q @RT28695354 Aug 12 Season 1 is the better of the two so far. The show is cute but a bit messy. The show might be intented to show the process of such a reno but you see a lot more going on..The contractor was very patient, and very kind to say that projects can test/cause issues in relationships, when in fact the problems of communication between Pamela and Dan were part of the things that got in the way of people effectively doing their job. What you end up seeing is how it is important to COMMUNICATE with your designer and contractor. The property is gorgeous but the messiness of communication gets in the way of this being a top tier design show. Additionally, because Pamela has previously worked on the design of another *personal* property, she purports to know better than everyone, but she lacks in giving the team CLEAR direction (she later does a better job). You also see an insistence on solar for the sustainability aspect, but the property is not the most suitable for it because of the tall trees. This discussion couldve been a small education point, but you don't see any of that and instead it was just a pat on the back for Pamela. If you like design shows you'll start off liking this show because of how beautiful the property is, but then may get turned off at how poorly the collaboration happens.
