Originally a nickname for an area just south of San Francisco that referred to its role in the development of silicon chips and computers, Silicon Valley has a much broader, largely untold history. Home to Apple and Facebook, Intel and Google, the region has spawned or nurtured not just innovative products but entire industries. Science Channel's three-part documentary comprehensively examines Silicon Valley, "how all the right ingredients came together to create a game-changing atmosphere of unparalleled innovation," the network says. The series includes interviews with some of the Valley's most prominent innovators -- including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who helped make the region what it is today -- and the tech entrepreneurs who are leading the Valley into the future.
