The show flounders because, at a certain point, all foreplay and no climax makes the series a dull void.
Ealy makes those battles of self crystal clear and sympathetic. He is a knockout in the role, with watchful blue eyes that quietly betray morality and fear.
Despite the mostly awful dialogue, Sleeper Cell succeeds on the strength of its plot. You're kept in a constant state of suspense as you watch various aspects of the plan taking shape
Darwyn is a fairly classic action-adventure hero... But the series finds staying power by slowly peeling the layers from his fellow terrorists, filling in first impressions with deeper texture and psychological detours.
Cobbled together out of hundreds of undercover/caper movie clichés, Sleeper Cell is so absurdly detached from the real world, it makes 24 look like a documentary.
Resembles two entirely different programmes bolted together: one a complex and often intelligent look at Islamic fundamentalism, the other a dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks TV thriller... But is it worth watching? Yes. I think so. If nothing else, it's different.
While the series is well written and the action sequences are as good as any on TV, it is the human side that makes this drama worth watching.

Sleeper Cell is a valiant stab at making brutally clear what one side of the war on terror is doing, and on those terms, it's jitters-causing enough.
If one is looking for a TV drama that earnestly tries to reflect and speak to our lives and times, it would be hard to do better than Sleeper Cell.
