Teenage sisters Riley and Chloe Carlson (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, in what would be their final foray as child actors into live-action TV comedy) deal with the same trials and tribulations of everyday life faced by most young people -- going to classes at Malibu High School, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, boys. When not in school, the girls work part-time jobs and deal with family issues, which are myriad. Although their parents are estranged, they're still good friends, and their mother's sassy male maid/nanny frequently gets involved in the hijinks. Regardless of how hard their teenage years are, the girls' sisterly bond helps them get through it all.
