The way the writers juxtaposed Sam and M'yrnn's stories made each aliens' struggle more human and grounded.
This story between J'onn and M'yrnn might be tertiary with all of the other arcs going on in Supergirl currently, but that doesn't lessen its ability to rip your heart out.

Seeing the characters, and the show, finally acknowledging how profound a fuckboy Mon-El has been was immensely satisfying, and it was genuinely powerful.
We're back, and just in time to watch some of our favorite characters make tough choices on behalf of the people they love tonight.
The continuation of M'yrnn J'onzz's memory loss was handled beautifully.
