When marginalized people stand to be further marginalized, now more than ever we need to see people -- fictional or not -- willing to fight back against the tide. This is that show, and it deserves our attention.
It's hard to imagine using comedy to address campus rape, but this teen-oriented, edgy, and offbeat series manages to do it successfully.
It's funny, biting, the characters have great chemistry with one another, it's a highly topical issue that is well done, passes the Bechdel test, and is just a little nerdy.
The key ingredients -- great leads, strong dialogue, and a can't-miss premise -- are already in place, meaning the show has a solid foundation on which to build and evolve.
