Bucksin L 02/27/2023 The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary, professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation. Josh Gates is a TV producer who's greatest skill is navigating airports and standing in front of cameras wearing outdoor clothing that's completely unnecessary. In fact, I don't think Josh Gates would know what to use all of those pockets for besides some snacks for the airplane ride. That said, he does have a degree in archeology that he doesn't use. If this show didn't try to inflate Josh Gates' experience and credentials as an explorer, since there are salesman who have more passport stamps than him, then it would be great. Rather they create a huge, disingenuous element by propping Josh up like he belongs there, as if he's respected by the people he's interviewing, and he's not. John Gates is about as real as Bear Grylls, which is not real at all. See more Katherine 09/04/2022 Terrible. Abysmal host in terribly cheesy attire. Interesting details, but using a reference from a guy that designed a roller coaster and several of the acting scenes that are superimposed are … terrible.
