Tattooing is an art form that allows people to express their feelings through their body art, and some tattoo artists are more prolific than others. "Tattoo Age" profiles some of the artists who have gained fame, usually because they have been doing it for decades. The docuseries talks to people who know the artists and share information about their lives and careers. Among the featured artists are Thom deVita, who began tattooing in New York City in the mid-60s when it was illegal and Mutsuo, who does his work at Japan's famous Three Tides Tattoo shop.
