This series, loosely based Philip K. Dick's novel of the same name, takes a look at what the world might look like had the outcome of World War II turned out differently. In this dystopian scenario, the Axis powers won the war, leading to the United States being divided into three parts, an area controlled by the Japanese, a Nazi-controlled section, and a buffer zone between the two. Despite the oppression, a new hope emerges when films turn up that seem to show a different world. A woman believes the films contain the key to freedom and is determined to find their mysterious guardian.

How it won multiple Emmy's is beyond me and how highly this show is rated on RT is even more surprising. If you are a history buff it is really hard to watch. Maybe it is some political commentary? If it is its bad at that too. Not really any redeeming qualities in the show. For the amount of money the show cost to make its kind of incredible to me that its this bad. The female lead is just another badly written female that 'don't need no man', but she constantly asks and gets help from men. She is the 'chosen one', don't you know, everything just seems to work out for her. Everyone else that has to deal with her, their situation doesn't go so well. For example, her boyfriend gets picked up, jailed, and severely beaten, but he doesn't reveal her wherabouts. He ends up losing his sister, niece and nephew for his trouble. When she gets back, after he tells her what happened, her reaction was the equivalent of him telling her his cat ran out the house and is missing. She's got one sullen expression, sleeps with most of the guys that DO help her out, and there are no repercussions for her bad choices. Fave characters: Joe Blake, Frank Frink, Ed McCarthy...Basically all the male leads were exceptional. My favorite female character is Helen Smith. See more Daniel P @dnlzzxz Nov 25 We are talking about a show that has a decency of 4, yes four, complete seasons of 10, yes ten, episode of 1 full hour each, nowadays that's a luxury nowhere to be seen. The history is not revolucionary but it is ok, the actors are top notch, you cannot ask for more than that. So you need to put things in perspective, compared to the netflix rubbish we have now: shows have one season of 7 episodes with 30 minutes each, with a story so bad that's seems like a bad joke - this is heaven and such a refresh from these dark times.
