01/18/2021 I am a little annoyed at some of the cultural details. I am watching the second episode, a crime that took place in 1991, and the intro uses Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV series), Marilyn Manson, and The Craft as examples of teenage obsession with the occult during that era. As a teen in that era, I remember the Satanic panic where some fundamentalist religous groups obsessed over the occult, but the occult did not dominate teen pop culture during that time in any way. Also, all of the above examples are from the late 90s. Buffy the TV series came out in 97, Marilyn Manson's first album was released in 94 and didn't really pick up steam until 95, and The Craft was released in 96. It might seem like a small difference but in between was the advent of the Internet and it was almost a completely different era. See more Read all reviews
