Frank O @RT33628196 10/19/2024 While The Charlie Puth Show on the Roku Channel offers a glimpse into Charlie's life, it falls short of fully capturing the depth and sincerity of this remarkable young man. My son Michael has been one of Charlie's closest friends since their freshman year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and their friendship has been a cornerstone in both of their journeys. Charlie played a significant role in helping Michael navigate the challenges of being nine hours away from home, while Michael provided Charlie with the support and respect he needed to come out of his shell. Despite being hailed as a musical genius by their Berklee friend group, Charlie was, at the time, a shy and somewhat neurotic individual. It’s hard to believe that this reserved young man would evolve into the self-assured artist we see today. I remember Charlie, at just 21, leaning against the wall during Michael's birthday party in the Presidential Suite of the Omni Parker Hotel, a stark contrast to the confident performer the TV audience knows now. Their families recognized and cherished this friendship from the beginning. Michael often invited Charlie to join us for lunches, Celtics and Bruins games, and other gatherings, fostering a bond that transcended the typical music industry relationships. It was a pivotal moment when Charlie performed live for the first time, encouraged by long-time Berklee professor Livingston Taylor. This marked the beginning of his rise to fame, but it’s important to remember that Charlie’s growth was a gradual process, supported by genuine friendships like the one he shares with Michael.
