This, of course, is how you get more than 10 million people to watch a docuseries -- not through subtlety, or contemplation, or taste, but by appealing to lurid curiosity with a blunt-force emotional approach. It is, as they say, what it is. Go to Full Review

Yet what’s unquestionably clear is that, for all their wild accusations against each other, everyone involved in this trashy saga is more than a bit screwy. Go to Full Review

The second season of this soap opera-like docuseries improves greatly from the first season by having extensive interviews with Natalia Grace to present a fuller picture of the events in dispute. Her DNA test elevates the credibility of the documentary. Go to Full Review

It’s cathartic if infuriating to watch Natalia be the one to have to confront them all these years later. Go to Full Review

Nataly S @RT83221284 03/26/2025 Natalia is very unlikable person. She overacted and fake cried the whole show with zero tears. She came through as entitled. According to Natalia, everyone owed her. Everyone owed her help, pay for her surgeries, food, etc. Nobody owes you anything. We all go through challenges in our lives and nobody owes us anything. See more Elise L @RT14529670 01/18/2025 Season 2 is horrible. A lot of overacting and lying, seems like very fake accounts of what actually happened by Natalia. She is not genuine and is very hard to watch. Not believable. Several people over act and just make the whole thing annoying and a waste of time, trying to make up a false narrative of what happened to make others seem like bad people. The first season was excellent, the second is not worth your time to watch. See more Luan R @RT17209410 05/07/2024 good story, BAD doc. See more Mike G @RT20271433 02/01/2024 One of the worst shows I’ve ever watched See more Stephen H @RT77903226 01/16/2024 Certainly the case is odd, but at its heart, the twists and turns, is the question of whether Natalia is manipulative and evil or whether her adoptive family is at fault. This is a false premise. Natalia was an orphan who got bounced around from family to family - hence attachment issues. Natalia may have threatened her adoptive family with harm - who wouldn't? Natalia was inappropriate in her apartment complex - that's because she was 8 and not 24. She is overly friendly with neighbors - attachment issues again. She plays with kids - never had a chance to. She says sexually appropriate things - since she was raped at least once (probably more) by the age of 8, she may not be able to assess what is appropriate and inappropriate. Eats from people's fridges - she's hungry. Within a two year period, she lives with an (allegedly) abuse mother and histrionic father - is she expected to be a "normal", well adjusted person? She claims to be 24 - she was physically abused and manipulated to say these things. The postscript bolsters the case that she's somehow evil. There's no intrigue here. By the age of 8 she experienced sexual, physical, emotional, and mental abuse and abandonment. These things were done to her by adults and she was helpless to stop them. A reputable child psychologist would have been an informative interviewee, rather than random people. But somehow the film makers prefer to demonize her. Meanwhile, the film crew keeps recording when the son fails to turn off his mic. Shouldn't they have turned off his mic? When a vulnerable interviewee says they want to stop the interview, you stop. It's grossly unethical to ignore their wishes. See more Lisa c @RT05467799 01/11/2024 I just can't make this programme out the step Father Michael seems to be putting on a terrible act , talk about over dramatic !!! He seems to love the attention . Natalia keeps going into fits of crying but there are no tears & when she has the second meeting with Michael she's smiling at the memory's with him . Why does she keep looking over at the crew from the corner of her eyes when she's so called crying . I don't know it all seems like it's dramatised but it shouldn't be cause it's a series matter , maybe cause it's American they do tend to over dramatise everything . It just makes me question everything about the whole story 😤🤦‍♀️ See more Read all reviews
