Only pushes the story further and deeper while expanding the world ever wider, and solidifying The Dragon Prince as one of the great animated fantasies of our time.

Nov 22, 2019 | Full Review…

A fascinating inversion of classic fantasy tropes centering on children in humble circumstances who learn they're secretly of noble blood and have some great destiny.

Nov 19, 2019 | Full Review…

With even more epic set pieces and a grandiose scale, Season 3 completely outdoes the two that preceded it.

Nov 18, 2019 | Full Review…

The Dragon Prince season 3 finale so emphatically raises the bar (on the series' capacity for epic conflict, resonant action, and exhilarating conclusions) that it feels like a distinct graduation from the show we've known so far.

Every single element of the series has clicked into place perfectly. Every line, every shot, every background, every music cue, everything just works. It's a joy to watch.

Audience Reviews for The Dragon Prince: Season 3

The Dragon Prince (TDP) is on its way to being an animated classic, likely following in the footsteps of Avatar: The Last Airbender, a show it holds strong ties to. While Dragon Prince is not as well-known as many of Netflix's newer animated shows, such as She-Ra, it is well executed. TDP offers so many unique and amazing characters from both the heroes and the villains. On top of this, the show treats +LGPT characters, unlike a lot of people in real life, as a naturally and completely normal thing. +LGPT characters are just there being as great and amazing as any other character in the show, as they should. The show also naturally introduce and incorporate lore into the world, with characters having realistic reasons for introducing more and more bits about the world to the audience without it seeming like massive dumps of information pushed in your face. The show's world-building, as well as its system of magic, are phenomenal, unlike somewhat similar shows such as She-Ra, despite its popularity. Characters are given deep, character arcs, and proper motivations. Yes, some may seem to be stereotypical, like the dumb jock; the naive, innocence child; or the scrawny protagonist like to define themselves, they each, very quickly, break these tropes to become characters with fleshed-out personality, quirks, and motives for their actions. TDP creators, animators, storyboards, etc. of the show put their hearts and souls into making a world, characters, and story people would want to live, care about, and be invested in, respectably. It is a shame that not many people are aware of the show given its low count of review; it is truly a show that is well worth the watch and sure to bring enjoyment to many of any age.

This season redeemed the catastrophic unorganized and poor developing characters of season 2. This season gave a firm direction and moral justification of goods and evils (beyond the simplicity of good and bad) but rather focus on the choice of each individual made that define their path forward.

The Dragon Prince Season 3 moves a little too quickly for its own good and could use a few writing tune-ups here and there. Overall, though, it's nothing short of absolutely marvelous.

Lots of things to like about this...especially if you harken back to the days when Avatar: The Last Airbender was new and fresh (and before M. Night Shyamalan ruined it.) However, given She-Ra, the Dark Crystal prequel series, and now this, I am beginning to think Netflix has a list of requirements for any new kids show. ONE -- Make sure that just about all female characters are smarter, stronger, and better than just about all male characters TWO -- Make sure there is at least one gay couple, if for no other reason than simply to have a gay couple. Oh, and make sure they kiss at least once. THREE -- If there are any villains, they should be male. FOUR -- There should be at least one character that is comic relief or a dufus, and that character must also be male. FIVE -- Remove all references to traditional forms of diety and only go for the new-age stuff. Good news for The Dragon Prince, it got the memo and hit all five! Glad this TV-7 show can start the cultural engineering in our kids at bright and early ages!

I loved it, and I hope Netflix continues making more seasons. This season was by far the best. Thanks so much for making Rayllum happen in this season, I was really wanting for them not to become a couple at the end of the story like Ang and Katara did in Avatar:The last airbender, because that was really annoying to watch. I have to thank all the musicians and the composer Frederik Wiedmann for making amazing pieces that excited me and empowered me, I hope you continue making this kind of lovely music for next seasons as well. The animation also improved since previous seasons, I also think the characters developed/matured a lot during this season. The story is also really gripping, Once I started watching it I only stopped cause I have fallen a sleep during the show from tiredness. I dont know if anyone is going to be reading season 3 comments if hes considering to watch this show, but if you do happen to find yourself here LISTEN, you wont regret watching this show, at least all the people before you didnt. Thank you Netflix for making this show and I hope you get a lot of viewership for this season so you can make more seasons and more money.

After a season 3 I can only say that it's the best fantasy series right now with a very charismatic characters. It also has an incredible soundtrack which is on the same level of quality as the game of thrones. Epic.

Best show on Netflix as far as I'm concerned. Keep it going and tell the whole story! The animation has improved dramatically and the story goes from strength to strength. Keep it up!

Welcoming all age groups and people of different backgrounds to enjoy its many open minded life lessons. With its unique animations it keeps its integrity by remaining interesting and captivating.

Really like it. The story is getting more interesting and the open ending makes me eager to watch season 4. I like how the relationships of the various characters are naturally maturing and I never felt some of them to be forced.

Disappointing! Though the animation is still beautiful, the world seems smaller and set with with cardboard stage pieces instead of samples of a more realized ecosystem. The characters are inconsistent and unmotivated. And worst of all the plot is rushed, full of contrived occurences that obliterate suspension of disbelief. It doesn't earn the emotional moments it's trying to sell.
