Carol S @RT02501041 12/02/2024 Charismatic lead actor Kim Nam Gil broke his wrist after shooting began. But he continued filming this martial arts comedy with strong pain killers, so everyone could keep their jobs. This may help explain the wacky surreal energy. I think stoners would love this series. At first I was turned off by the cartoonishly odd premise of a devout rage-aholic Catholic priest who was also a martial arts fighter. But soon I was completely charmed. You've heard of dry British humor being an acquired taste? Well, this is silly, warm Korean humor, a real introduction into another culture that loves to laugh even during fight scenes. I think the production became one of those miracles like Mary Poppins where the cast and director hit a perfect groove. Like Friends, the cast bonded and agreed there would be no season 2 unless all of them were included, not an easy thing to schedule. After five years, the sequel just debuted.
