Dr. Jan Pol has been a practicing veterinarian for more than half his life. In 1981, he and his wife, Diane, opened a vet business out of their home, and over the years it has grown to service more than 19,000 clients. Set in central Michigan's farm country, this reality series follows the work done at Pol Veterinary Services. Specializing in large farm animals, Dr. Pol treats horses, pigs, cows, sheep, alpacas, goats, chickens and even an occasional reindeer. The program also features Dr. Brenda Grettenberger, who has worked with Dr. Pol since 1992.

Nancy S @RT63744111 01/01/2025 This series is just wonderful to me. I love to watch to learn and be entertained. Don’t miss it. Hope you enjoy it too. See more 08/07/2019 I only watched S2,Ep3 "All Vets are Off," I think it was. I didn't care for it, because I don't particularly like Dr. Pol. In the episode I watched today, as filler between episodes of other shows that I was interested in watching, he was interviewing a potential vet - Sandra - to join him and ultimately replace him at his practice. He took her out to deal with a cow who had some sort of Milk Disease (can't remember what it was called 😕). I just thought he could have done more to interview Sandra than just leave her to watch him. She didn't help or ask questions or anything! And he didn't ask many questions of her! 😱 I didn't like how Dr. Pol treats the animals under his care. For the cow, he just punched a needle into her and put the calcium bottle on the tube to feed into the cow. Without really any discussion of what he was doing to the cow's owner, to Sandra, or to the cow! 😱 I just don't like Dr. Pol. He's not very personable or friendly, to his patients or to his patients' owners! I'd love to think that maybe his explanations and friendliness ARE present, just not shown in the episodes, but I have to say that if I lived in Michigan, I'd very much hope to be able to go to a different vet. 😕 See more Read all reviews
