Even without their youngest member and iconic star, the Jacksons perform, four decades after they first hit the stage. A six-hour series chronicles the journey taken by Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon as they prepare for a 40th-anniversary reunion concert while mourning the death of their brother Michael. The foursome records new songs and rehearses for the concert, attends the bittersweet premiere of Michael's "This Is It" film, and tries to balance its responsibilities to the group while pursuing other projects.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Dull and utterly trite, The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty misses the mark as it tries to capture the magic of Motown's most infamous family.

The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty is stagey, self-conscious and, most of all, self-serving on the part of its participants. Go to Full Review

The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty isn't likely to impress reality show junkies... but those who have found themselves missing Michael [Jackson] over the course of the last year -- may well find themselves drawn to the series. Go to Full Review

The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty falls somewhere between The Osbournes and Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The format, however, mimics a wearisome paradigm. Go to Full Review
