"The One" follows aspiring musicians as they take part in a kind of music "boot camp" -- all while living together in the same house, a la "The Real World." Celebrity mentors help teach the recruits, and each has access to state-of-the-art facilities. Every week, the contestants perform for America; viewers then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. The celebs seen previously also serve as judges. Ultimately, the winner receives a recording contract with a major label.
