Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad") stars in this Hulu original as Eddie Lane, a member of a new-age spiritualist movement known as Meyerism. Unbeknownst to his wife and children, who are also members of the movement, Eddie has a vision about Meyerism's founder that causes him to have a crisis of faith -- right as he is expected to advance further up the spiritual ladder. Eddie decides to secretly meet with a Meyerist defector, causing his wife (Michelle Monaghan) -- an important figure in Meyerism -- to become suspicious. As the movement grows exponentially worldwide, Eddie is forced to face the question of whether he can grow Meyerism without becoming a cult leader.

It's extremely satisfying to see The Path use its time between seasons to get back to its basics and figure out a strong, exciting angle to pursue. Go to Full Review

Omair A @RT05529539 03/27/2024 Pure garbage of a show. Season 1 had a good premise with a cliffhanger, then season 2 completely squandered it, and then season 3 just made every character so incredibly unlikeable. Each character makes decisions that make no sense. The show writers try so hard to make Lilith the enemy or bad guy when she’s just a lady with mental health issues who was exploited. Instead, these horrible self-serving, self gaslighting, fake self flagellating characters walk around acting like they’re figuring themselves out when none of them are actually living there authentic life and nobody seems to really develop as a person. Hate-watched the show until the end and the ending is so horribly disappointing. Not suprised at all that it wasn’t renewed. Also, Eddie speaking in his half whisper voice the ENTIRE 2nd and third season drove me nuts. This is not how people talk - he does not sound any more deep then if he talked normally. Lastly, they should have explored how each of the characters actually do not have the capacity to love anyone other than themselves - Eddie, Sara, cal - they all act righteous until they feel slighted and then do something that either hurts others or is unnecessarily self sabotaging. They learn nothing from their behaviors throughout the 3 seasons. ***spoiler next*** the total lack of awareness of the writers was most evident in the last scene at the psych ward with Lilith. Sara visits her only to give her a piece of her daughters hair whom she accidentally shot - which btw the show seems to totally skip over - like they want you to think she shot her daughter on purpose. Anyway, Sarah hands her this hair fragment, and then says “we’re burying your daughter”, leaves the ward and, for some crazy reason, starts to SMILE!?!!? Like what?!!? Sarah is a sociopath. This lady is locked up in a psych ward with a dead daughter. The show ends with Eddie asking for Sarah to stand next to him at the funeral because he “needs” her. I don’t know if they were trying to make it sound genuine, but if you look at the circumstances, his confession that he needs her is self serving and only being said for image purposes for the cult. Not because he actually needs her. This using of one another whenever it’s convenient happens throughout the show. I’m going to stop off my soapbox, but DO NOT WASTE your time to watch this show. See more 06/19/2020 No wonder why this series canceled after season 3.... Just see the number of audience reviewers counting. It is decreased. 1,Eddie(Araon Paul) Became boring leader of cult and chasing his ex-wife who does not love him anymore. But he did not love the women who really loved him and died for him(Vera). 2, Director tried to force us to accept that cal(Hugh) is good person now. As usual he does not punished for his crimes. 3, Sarah's love triangle were absolutely boring and She explored some dark secret of the cult. As usual She does not punished for her crimes. But Director tried hardly to keep her character as good. 4, Vera truly loved the cult and Eddie. But Eddie did not love her as same. They looked like made for each other than Sarah. 5, In this season there is only some boring love triangle, lot of loopholes and zero spiritual moment. 6, Above all of this, They ended this season like season 2 ending with lot of questions. U will tell that season 2 ending was better than this shit show. See more 12/24/2019 heroic and living up to its potential, could have used more messiah complex issues. a short ending for a short career. See more 09/02/2019 I just found it on HULU and am dreading coming to the end. Love Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan! And Hugh Dancy is excellent as a guy you love to hate. Sad it stopped... See more 03/30/2018 Better plot than the last season and flowed well throughout. However, Paul isn't a very convincing inspirational leader. See more 03/09/2018 After watching 2 SATISFYING seasons of the path... this third season has been a bit bumpy so far with some crazy character plot twists that weren't the best and could have been written out better in my opinion. I will stick around since season 1 and 2 was pretty good, hoping to see some new satisfying advancements in the story line. See more Read all reviews
