Critic Reviews for The Sentinel Season 1

All Critics (5) | Top Critics (3)

The budget appears to be lavish for explosives and almost nil for writers since almost nothing in the first two scripts made any sense at all.

Jul 30, 2019 | Full Review…

[GI Jim] Ellison sniffs out serial bombers and terrorists in an exciting but hyperactive series.

Jul 30, 2019 | Rating: B | Full Review…

It's certainly not the slickest or most exciting cop show you'll ever see, but it comes with a cool enough gimmick to keep you entertained.

Jul 30, 2019 | Full Review…

Writing is sharp, direction is snappy, and actors perform to maximum effect. [Richard] Burgi conveys complexities of Ellison's confusion and efforts to cope with what's happening to him, and [Garett] Maggart is a good foil.

Jul 30, 2019 | Full Review…

With [Richard] Burgi soberly underplaying Ellison as a perplexed, vulnerable protagonist, "The Sentinel" is still swimming in intriguing murkiness. Inevitably, though, formulaic TV intervenes.
