... A story that feels cobbled together from a secondhand news report. From top beginnings, The Tower has crash-landed with a thump. Go to Full Review

Ian M @RT40470990 Sep 15 It's more of a 3.5 than a 3 or a 4 - has good accidental parallels with modern day issues the met and Gemma Whelan is excellent... It just isn't quite up to the line of duty standard, despite being a good police procedural See more baysidelad T @RT64770690 01/28/2025 Season 3 opens with Lizzie now a DC. Obviously the writer of the show has no idea about police courses and promotions because in season 1 Lizzie had been 12 months. Take out her time at basic training and she would have still been a probationer. Fast forward to season 3 (20 months later) and Lizzie has had a baby, would have had maternity leave and yet is a fully fledged DC. Impossible as the timeline makes no sense as she wouldn’t have had sufficient time to have completed all her detective training. Not to mention that there is no way that a 24 month constable who has had maternity leave would have achieved this level. Therefore, the whole series is flawed with Lizzie having far too much autonomy and knowledge for a very junior police officer. Police procedures are flawed with too much of the script painting just about all police as corrupt in some way or another. As an ex Met officer I find this whole storyline offensive to say the least. See more Connie L @RT10589228 11/24/2024 Although lots of the usual tropes are here, the performances make it worth the watch. I had to take breaks because of the tension. Felt the last season was the best. Lots of frustration, lots of characters to find disgusting. Not everyone is redeemed in the end, but you may have some empathy for even the worst of them. Hope to see more of these actors. The Brits do crime so well. See more Jen M @Jennifer226 11/10/2024 What a waste of time. After 2 great seasons the 3rd season is unbelievably awful. Worst ending ever. I’m pretty sure there won’t be a season four because there’s no coming back from this. I scoured my brain and I can’t think of a series that had a worse ending. If you’re reading this, and you haven’t watched it yet, good for you! Save yourself some time and spare yourself the angst. Gemma Whelan should know better. See more Andrei D @RT74856639 10/30/2024 The ending is just a tad forced but it manages to wrap up the entire series narrative in a good way See more Daryl S @RT85868352 10/07/2024 A slowish start but as the series progressed it got better and better. I really enjoyed it and was really rooting for the characters by the end of Series 3. Worth watching and persevering with. Gritty and quite realistic. See more Read all reviews
