When Dr. Bashir Hamed, a charismatic Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine, flees his war-torn homeland, he and his younger sister become refugees, struggling to forge a new life in Canada. If Bash ever wants to be a doctor again, he must redo his medical training from the ground up. He scores a residency in the biggest Emergency Department of the best hospital in Toronto, but it's a tough road. Bash's training is different, his life experience is different and he's not an exact match for his new colleagues. But his journey is universal, and his passion and hopefulness become contagious.

Stephen G @RT76499974 Nov 18 The fourth and final season of Transplant brings this heartwarming and occasionally heartbreaking series to a fitting conclusion. The evolution of the show and its characters transcends those of most other TV series, even good ones. My wife and I genuinely became attached to the characters, their growth and their struggles. Yes, there were still the several medical subplots about ailing patients in each episode. But the sweep of Transplant was more about the challenges the (mostly) doctors were facing in their personal and professional lives. And it all came together in the final episodes of the final season, in ways powerful, satisfying and all very human. Really, a very fine show. Her talk like a boss and talk like a peer fighting moves are dull blades. She alienates people. The arrogant and selfish new pale blonde female doctor is an unsympathetic damp squib. Having Theo screw up and June cut herself are more missteps. The psychiatrist is a strong addition. There were some good scenes again. The last episode was weak. See more Read all reviews
