From gaudy designs to botched renovations, comedian Retta travels across the country to tour properties nominated by their owners as the ugliest home around. The country gets divided into four regions, with four homes from each region selected as finalists based on the following criteria: ugly in appearance, bad function and "surprise." However, the competition doesn't stop there: after crowning the worst of the worst, designer Alison Victoria surprises the homeowners with an incredible $150,000 renovation.

Kim V @RT88675732 Jun 16 I really enjoy The Ugliest House in America and appreciate the creativity and humor the show brings to home transformations. However, I was genuinely surprised and a bit disappointed by the winner of Season 2. In my opinion, the chosen home was BEAUTIFUL! It didn’t come close to fitting the criteria of “ugly." It left me wondering how it was selected to be on the show in the first place. It almost felt like there may have been some personal connection involved behind the scenes. Still, I’m a fan of the series and look forward to future seasons! See more C @RT42194895 01/04/2023 We love , love Retta! But the winner didn't deserve to win. Without spoiling it, it was just perplexing to us that they won. Sure they had an issue . ONE issue, and maybe a couple minor ones. But i would give up my 1st born child to live in that place. Nothing ugly about it at all. After trying to figure out why they were chosen, we figured that HGTV must've thought it was the cheapest house to reno. I hope season 3 has a better, more deserving winner See more Read all reviews
