It's classic straightforward evening TV, well crafted and well paced, with strong characters and well-defined arcs. It doesn't reinvent the wheel; it just makes a very, very good wheel.

One of the best TV series out right now. Period. Season 4 is proving with each episode to give the fans what they want. If you loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then this show is right up your alley.

The threats in the story are hellishly important and blood still runs aplenty in the premiere episode, but there is always that wink to the audience at the same time as the characters are grounded in genuine emotion.

The Season 4 premiere leaves us with some great questions, and the promise of a new episode next week to start answering them. What a feeling.

While we wish it hadn't taken that long, Wynonna Earp went a long way toward making up to viewers during those torturous months when they were deprived of their favorite snarky, generally badass (former) heir and her demon-fighting friends.

Wynonna and Waverly's bond continues to be a driving force of much of the show's emotional narrative, and Scrofano's ability to express so much by doing very little is the show's secret weapon.
