Stealing the hearts of viewers with his performance as young Jerry Baynard on the series "Anne" (CBC, 2017-), Aymeric Jett Montaz was born in Montreal, Canada in 2004. He showed talent as a performer from an extremely young age, appearing in his first project, the French Canadian short film "Ne Pas Reculer" (2012) when he was just eight years old. He would prove to be an extremely likeable presence on screen, booking a number of commercials for companies such as Ville de Montréal, Jean Coutu, and Olymel. In 2015, he had a small, non-speaking role in the drama "Ville-Marie" (2015), which allowed him to act alongside his younger sister Satine Scarlett Montaz. An appearance on an episode of "Just For Laugh Gags" (PPI, 2015-) allowed Montaz to showcase his fluency in English-a skill he'd carried for virtually his entire life, as he attended a dual French-English school. Another English language opportunity came two years later, with an appearance on the series "Bellvue" (CBC, 2017-). That same year would bring Montaz's big break, when casting calls began for "Anne," an adaptation of the Anne of Green Gables book series. Montaz lacked the extensive filmography he would need in order for producers to invite him to audition, but he was so excited about the role of Jerry that he sent in an unsolicited audition tape anyway. Producers were so taken with Montaz's performance that he eventually won the role.
