Chris Mazdzer
Born June 26, 1988, in Pittsfield, Mass., American luger Chris Mazdzer competed at both the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. He was the overall 13th-place finisher in both sets of games. He went on to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, where he won the silver medal in the Men's Single Luge event. He is the first U.S. athlete to become a medalist in men's single luge events, and the only non-European competitor to win a medal at that particular event in 2018. Prior to his triumph in PyeongChang, Mazdzer also was the winnner of the 2015-16 Luge World Cup Men's singles event at Lake Placid. In April 2018, it was announced that Mazdzer would be joining the cast of Season 26 of "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ) as part of a special all-athlete competition.
