Birthday: Jul 26, 1901

Englishman Paul Bradley met his longtime friend and musical collaborator Stephen Warbeck (they are co-leaders of the group The hKippers) when they were both attending Manchester University and performing in the same repertory theatre company. Warbeck went on to become an Oscar-winning composer ("Shakespeare in Love") and Bradley continued with his acting aspirations. Bradley first gained recognition in the early 1980s as the character Warlock on the quirky cult comedy "The Young Ones." He spent the rest of the decade making guest appearances on various British television shows, most notably in a recurring role on the cult sci-fi comedy "Red Dwarf," until he landed the role of Nigel, the affable nerd, in the long running BBC hit soap opera "EastEnders" in 1992. He left the show after a seven-year, 420-episode run. In 2000 he voiced Sancho Panza in an animated version of "Don Quixote" and has found more extensive work as a surgeon in the BBC drama "Holby City." Bradley has also done work with Comic Relief in aiding victims of the strife in Rwanda, and has a lone feature film credit in Roman Polanski's 2002 Oscar-winning Holocaust drama, "The Pianist."
