      Ralph Stanley worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Stanley worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1974-2015), "Dangerous Years" (1947), "False Paradise" (1948), "Roll, Thunder, Roll" (1949), "The Anderson Tapes" (1971) and "The Dead Don't Dream" (1948). In the eighties and the early 2000s, Stanley devoted his time to various credits, such as "Crossroads" with Ralph Macchio (1986), "High Lonesome: The Story of Bluegrass Music" (1993) starring Bill Monroe, "The Late Show With David Letterman" (CBS, 1993-2015), "Chasers" with Tom Berenger (1994), "Gather at the River: A Bluegrass Celebration" (1994) and "Grand Ole Opry 75th -- A Celebration" (CBS, 2000-01). Recently, he tackled roles in "Down From the Mountain" (2001). He also appeared at "The 44th Annual Grammy Awards" (2001-02). Stanley also contributed music to the crime drama "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" (2000) with George Clooney and "Lawless" (2012) with Shia LaBeouf. Stanley most recently acted in the documentary "Re:Generation Music Project" (2012) with Skrillex.
