Biography:

Tyler is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He’s been obsessed with movies and the oscars since he was about 14. He enjoys reading, but even more, talking about Amy Adams more and will, at any given moment, bring up her Oscar snub for Arrival. The only thing he spends more time on than watching TV is sitting on Twitter. If you ever want to discuss the movie Carol at length, he’s your guy.

Holland (2025) 21% C- EDIT “The biggest issue with Holland is that nothing feels earned, creating a narrative that ebbs and flows how it pleases with little to no explanation on the connective tissue required to get there.” – AwardsWatch Mar 13, 2025 Full Review The True Beauty of Being Bitten by a Tick (2025) 71% B+ EDIT “The entire film hinges on Chao’s performance as it walks a tonal tightrope towards the finish line. Yvonne is hilariously out of her comfort zone, Zoë Chao able to convey her appalled dispositions with the slightest arch of her brow.” – AwardsWatch Mar 10, 2025 Full Review Together (2025) 89% A- EDIT “Casting a real-life couple in Brie and Franco pays off, even the moments of awkwardness still possess a glimmer of the tenderness the couple once felt for each other. ” – AwardsWatch Mar 9, 2025 Full Review It's What's Inside (2024) 80% B+ EDIT “The film wouldn’t work without a steady hand from Greg Jardin, who keeps the story digestible even when it becomes hilariously convoluted, never steering away from the intention and keeping course on his vision.” – AwardsWatch Mar 18, 2024 Full Review Babes (2024) 87% A EDIT “A laugh-a-minute film complete with two incredible lead performances from Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau, Babes is the first great comedy of the year.” – AwardsWatch Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Timestalker (2024) 87% B EDIT “An often hilarious film, Timestalker manages to push wacky humor and sentimentalism into the same container as Agnes (Alice Lowe) falls through time searching for the man she believes to be her true love.” – AwardsWatch Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Birdeater (2023) 74% C EDIT “Shabana Azeez as Irene, the bride-to-be, is almost the only redeemable quality of the film, as the rest feels bloated and forced.” – AwardsWatch Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Pet Shop Days (2023) 29% D EDIT “Pet Shop Days offers nothing of substance, only able to give 100 minutes of drugs, sex, and violence that amounts to nothing by the film’s end.” – AwardsWatch Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Omni Loop (2024) 84% B EDIT “Omni Loop is best when Parker and Edebiri are together, a comedic chemistry so natural that it makes the film feel grounded even when steeped in scientific jargon about physics and the cosmos.” – AwardsWatch Mar 15, 2024 Full Review I Don't Understand You (2024) 52% B+ EDIT “Andrew Rannells and Nick Kroll have incredible chemistry, not only able to portray a couple with argumentative tendencies due to the tension from dealing with adoption fraud but also showing a tenderness for one another that feels authentic.” – AwardsWatch Mar 9, 2024 Full Review
