Lab assistant Igor (John Cusack) dreams of becoming a mad scientist like his master, Dr. Glickenstein. When the doctor runs afoul of his own invention, Igor seizes the chance. With the help of his friends Scamper (Steve Buscemi) and Brain (Sean Hayes), Igor plans to win the kingdom's annual science fair by building the most-evil monster ever. The problem is that Eve (Molly Shannon), as the monster is called, is sweeter than sugar and would rather be an actress.

Elena B @TSLord Jan 7 How anyone could find ANYTHING bad to say about this impeccable film is simply beyond me, and makes me doubt that they did more than skim/ff through it, thinking it was "just another kiddie flick". IGOR is anything BUT. It is a glorious homage to numerous classics, from FRANKENSTEIN, to YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, to SUNSET BOULEVARD, and innumerable others. The cast is OUTSTANDING, and nearly every single line by each talent is a master class in voice acting. The script, the aesthetic, and soundtrack are perfect, and the result is a film that bears watching & rewatching. More than a decade after first seeing IGOR, quotations from it still pepper my speech. If that's not the mark of a true comedy classic, I don't know what is!
