Hollow Triumph is a fantastic film. It is about John Muller who is pursued by the big-time gambler he robbed. Paul Henreid and Joan Bennet give terrific performance is good but a little slow in places. Steve Sekely did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. Hollow Triumph is a must see.

Excellent example of an interesting story albeit a bit convenient . Still I really enjoyed this low budget film noir . 4.5 out of 5. In this forgotten film noir gem, a crook (Paul Heinreid) on the lam after a casino robbery gone wrong thinks he's found the perfect deep cover when he assumes the identity of a psychologist (Heinreid in a double role) who is his perfect double. But when his nefarious scheme to take the innocent doctor's place goes wrong, it proves that in film noir, you can postpone your fate, but you can't escape it.

Really interesting film noir with, shadowy cinematography, excellent performances and interesting direction. One for fans of the genre. Well done.

Cracking good low budget film noir! Direction and acting aren't anything special, though Paul Henreid is solid in the lead. However, the film has a fine gritty script about an ex-con who poses as a lookalike psychiatrist following a heist gone wrong of an underground gambling joint. But even more to the film's benefit is the stark, moody photography by John Alton, who shot other low budget classics like "The Big Combo," "Border Incident" and "Raw Deal." Not a classic, but well worth checking out for fan of film noir.

Joan Bennett is terrific as Evelyn and this is the only compliment I can give this movie with an incredibly stupid plot that no one could possibly suspend their disbelief for.

a prelude to the noirish feel of some twilight zone episodes. Joan Bennett is always nice to see onscreen.

An enjoyable film noir with an over the top plot. Paul Henreid plays a gangster on the run who has a striking resemblance to a psychiatrist and attempts to impersonate him. Also known as Hollow Triumph this has a moody atmosphere, with great cinematography from John Alton. Recommended for film noir enthusiasts.

Very fine film noir, with Paul Henreid's performance a big plus for the film. Good score, well written dialogue and excellent cinematography. Fascinating story.
