Critics Consensus

Exuberant and eye-popping, Avengers: Age of Ultron serves as an overstuffed but mostly satisfying sequel, reuniting its predecessor's unwieldy cast with a few new additions and a worthy foe.

There is little in this film that is new, but that doesn't matter. The characters are still entertaining, the action scenes thrilling and near orgasmic, and the human relationships touching. Go to Full Review

I ate up the funny banter between each unique superhero personality. I loved the large-scaled action which seemed ripped straight from the pages of a comic book. I was interested in the future movie tablesetting. Go to Full Review

Mei 02/16/2025 The film delivers exciting action sequences, including the Hulk vs. Iron Man fight (Hulkbuster Some jokes didnt land well, making Ultron seem less meaningfull. Overall, its a solid Marvel movie but often considered weaker than the first Avengers film and Infinity War. If you enjoy superhero action and character moments, youll probably like it, but its not the best in the series. See more Raquel E @raquelea 15h An enjoyable installment with solid team dynamics and a strong introduction of Wanda, but weakened by forced character choices, an unnecessary romantic subplot, and a wasted character arc. See more Ray C @RT17651982 21h There’s a reason Avengers: Age of Ultron is often called the weakest Avengers movie. It still has a lot going for it—some great action, especially Hulk vs. Hulkbuster and the Sokovia finale. I also liked what they did with Hawkeye and Hulk. Ultron is a solid villain, but he really could’ve used more development. The biggest issue is how overstuffed it feels. There are just too many plots and character arcs, so some moments don’t land the way they should. Wanda and Pietro’s shift happens way too fast, and the Natasha/Bruce storyline lose it a lot of points. It also spends a bit too much time setting up future MCU movies. There’s still plenty of fun here, and parts of it genuinely hit. But it’s held back by trying to do too much at once. This movie only manages to deliver one good action sequence in the middle, but it doesn't offer any explanations or resolutions; everything is rushed. See more andrew H @andrew512 Mar 5 the movie isn't the best but defiantly way better than people think. See more Read all reviews
