A real turning point in the Marvel Universe as it experiments with new genres, with tremendous action throughout. it’s not perfect, Robert Redford seems ill-at-ease, but eight years on it’s still terrific. Go to Full Review

Captain America: The Winter Soldier neatly and entertainingly puts into motion some big changes in the Marvel universe, while still sticking to its own charms - no easy feat, but one fit for a hero. Go to Full Review

It knocks down a lot of the infrastructure the previous films had created, and it does so in a way that feels organic and refreshing for the Marvel world at large. Go to Full Review

It represents a monumental act of toy-breaking, but it works spectacularly well because it removes the safety net above which the first "phase" of Marvel features operated. Go to Full Review

The heroic eye-popping action sequences, hand-to-hand fight scenes, and extraordinary stuntwork are still present, but there is legitimate exposition going on that matters. Go to Full Review

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is an ideal blockbuster: fast, entertaining, visually striking, well-acted, and with something to say politically. The first film was good, but this is where things get more interesting. [Full review in Spanish]. Go to Full Review

Boots McGee 09/24/2024 action packed and just a fun time. very few lulls in the action, but usually those lulls are filled with pretty people in various stages of undress but no smut. See more Alex J @RT51904888 1d Poor imitation of several classic spy films. Why bother. See more Chris S @Janomi 1d Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of the MCU's smartest films, blending a political conspiracy thriller with superhero action in a way that feels both exciting and surprisingly grounded. Anthony and Joe Russo reinvent Captain America through brutal hand-to-hand combat, practical stunt work, and a tense espionage story that continually raises the stakes. Chris Evans gives one of his best MCU performances as Steve Rogers, while Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, and Robert Redford form one of Marvel's strongest supporting casts. The emotional core of Steve's relationship with Bucky gives the action real weight, making every confrontation matter. The first act spends a little too much time on exposition before the conspiracy fully unfolds, but once it does, the film rarely lets up. It's one of the MCU's most engaging and rewatchable entries. See more Carsin S @CarsinGaryschmidt 1d I did enjoy this movie, didn’t leave me feeling much but I did like how they explored both Bucky and Steve. See more E.D. J @Salty_Sass 2d The best Captain America movie? Honestly I was not expecting this movie to be this good. Also I love the detail is the struggles of a soldier without a war to fight See more James C @Sutton10 4d Favorite Marvel movie for sure. Superheroes are supposed to be charecters that we admire and want to be, Captain America is the ultimate version of that. The stand he takes in the final battle even when hardly no one supports him is one of the most heroic scene in any marvel movie. There are messy scenes and charecters that don't really click, but the story is so gripping and the execution is perfect. A thrilling film from start to finish, absolutely recommend.
