This movie was wholesome without being terribly cliche. More specifically, the fact that the nuns were unsuccessful at raising enough money for the building was unexpected. Hugh Marlowe's convincing repentance scene was a perfect way to end the movie.

Classic Christmas flick that is good, but not quite up to Going My Way or The Bells of St. Mary.

One of the most charming Christmas movies Hollywood has ever produced. Sadly it is not yet available on DVD.
