Cons on the run after a prison break; joined together by the promise of buried treasure. After the rush of a (rather unclear) breakout, the movie takes its time letting us watch the jockeying for advantage and how the convicts relate to each other and to the world they're traveling through, but aren't really a part of; they might as easily be soldiers negotiating enemy territory). Stories within the story are given time to play out in a very satisfying way; at least 'til near the end when things are a bit more rushed and a bit less rich and satisfying.
