Instead it was just slow, plodding, uninteresting and one of those times where I powered through it hoping that there would be an amazing revelation that would redeem my time suffering through it. I’m about 3/4 done and so far, not. Would have had more fun watching a Looney Tunes marathon. One somewhat redeeming thing, caught snippets of some good old songs I hadn’t forgotten about such as God Is Standing By from The Soul Stirrers. If I had paid to see this in a theater I would have been very annoyed. A very talented cast that are horribly wasted due to terrible writing. Aiming for an immersive tone over a clear plot but butchering both. The camera angles are so uncomfortable & don’t help the awkward romantic moments in the slightest. The only aspect worth commending is the cinematography, even if it’s bland, it’s still beautiful.
