As a former London constable, Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) finds it difficult to adapt to his new assignment in the sleepy British village of Sandford. Not only does he miss the excitement of the big city, but he also has a well-meaning oaf (Nick Frost) for a partner. This is great filmmaking and storytelling that just so happens to allude to other action movies in its construction. And quite frankly, it’s greatly entertaining in both the comedic and action realms, far surpassing its referenced sources.

Excellent comedy. Didn't even know it existed until I started seeing clips of it on Youtube. Then when it appeared on Amazon Prime, I clicked on it immediately. Perfect way to pass time.

Not sure why everyone raves about this one, and this is coming from someone who LOVED Shaun of the Dead. I just can't quite get into Hot Fuzz in comparison. It does have its moments for sure, but I didn't find myself to be laughing nearly as much. Cop/detective type films aren't really that interesting to me in general, so maybe it's just the subject matter. It's still overall a good movie, I just don't view it nearly as highly as Shaun of the Dead. I also find it kinda boring at parts and the editing to be a bit distracting. Felt like a Saw movie at times.
