A good story line but you would still feel that the movie had the potential to be even better. A film were how Bollywood functions and various emotional journey shown from the eye of a starlet and a struggling actor turned star is shown, you would still feel that something was still missing and there one would feel that the movie had the potential to be even better. Songs are good and good performance by Farhan Akhtar. Konkana is effortless and others fit in well. watch out for Rishi Kapoor who is fantastic as a producer.
A fresh take at story telling at its best. inconceivably predictable. hats off to the cast and crew. Charming main character in Farhan. A matured observation in the field of cinemas. The movie delicately presented a truly genuine documentary of behind the scenes of Bollywood in a fictionalized way
A perfectly knit storyline with the right combo of fine acting displayed by Farhan Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma and the rest. The movie pampers the reality and humanness of the stars without compromising on the glitter and glamor. An ideal movie to watch on any laid back day.
Mini Review 12: Luck by Chance
Aspiring actor Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar) dreams of striking gold in Bollywood, by hook or crook, and is waiting for his first break. When nothing seems like coming around, he lands the role of a leading man in one of the most prestigious films. From there on his luck is on a trail run but he falls victim to the usual vicissitudes of stardom, glory, money and paparazzi.
--> Presence of multiple stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan to quote a few
--> Extremely natural performance by Konkana Sen Sharma which comes pretty naturally to her
--> Great music and background score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy
--> Truly lucky Farhan Akhtar with not an iota of performance written across him.
Informative and delicious.
Excellent cast, performance and direction!
I was completely taken by surprise by this film. I wasn't planning on watching it, but I am glad I did. It is terrific. This is easily one of the best films I have seen recently. It's Bollywood at its finest. The story is an insider look at the Bollywood film industry and the struggle of actors to get noticed in Bollywood. It deals with a range of issues like casting couch, movie business, actors images, hopes and aspirations and showbiz politics. It does so in a subtle and understated manner, yet is incredibly engaging. The film is very intelligently written and the dialogues are sharp and true to life. The characters are instantly likable. They are complex and seem like they are straight out of life. The acting is brilliant from the entire cast. You will find yourself hanging onto their every word and expression.
An interesting take on the dirty world of the Hindi film industry. Good direction with good performances. Some really good songs to add to the mix makes it a pretty good watch
Good job Konkona. Farhan - come on, why are you trying to be Salman Khan. You look awful.
