The story is not very memorable, but it provides a good exposure for Greer Garson, who I admit I totally ignored although she had a stellar career with many nominations for Best Actress and one win. It is about a widowed matriarch who reminisces about her family fortunes, including her romance with a financier/mine owner. Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Tay Garnett did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. Mrs. Parkington is a must see. Nice story that moves fast through the lives of a family of a rich guy meets poor girl drams. Some of the characters were hard to figure out who they were such as Amory - the corrupt money-hungry guy. Or, what was Peter Lawford's role?
