Without being overly political, Ayouch touches on the hypocrisy of gender norms in the Middle East. Go to Full Review

Claudio C @Claudio666 Mar 10 Much Loved (2015) Realistic Film (12,323 - 10 Mar 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In Morocco, Noha (Loubna Abidar), Soukaina (Halima Karaouane) and Randa (Asmaa Lazrak) are prostitutes that live together. Their pimp and driver is Said (Abdellah Didane). Noha is the leader and has a son raised by her mother with her teenage sister. Soukaina has a boyfriend that takes money from her. Randa wants to travel to Spain to see her presumed father. They have sex with tourists to raise money and are explored by corrupt cops. When they meet the homeless pregnant prostitute Hlima (Sara Elhamdi Elalaoui), they bring her to live with them. "Much Loved" (2015) is a very realistic film by Nabil Ayouch with professional and non-professional cast. The life of prostitute is hard in any country, but imagine in the Muslin Marocco with Islamic values? This film was banned from Marocco and the cast threatened. My vote is six. The fact that this film was banned in its own country proves to me that it is too real to be shown to the world and is nothing but hypocrisy. See more 10/19/2021 I read many reviews but I can't say I agree. Perhaps none of the reviewers were Moroccan or have never lived in 3rd world conditions. This has been my favourite movie. It brings many issues to light not just prostitution. Homosexuality, Transmen which btw I didn't know about in Morocco. It's honest, real or vulgar if u want to call it that. To me it is a great movie. I've watched it over a dozen times. See more 07/24/2020 This movie will surprise you in pace and content. The feeling and reality of the style successfully give you a window into the life of the characters. There's not exaggeration as ther doesn't need to be. If you're looking for a sexually stimulatin movie this is definitely not it . But if you're looking for a movie that will open your heart, this does it. The movie ended before I wanted it to.
