Sure, it doesn’t have the same choking grip as the best Bond films, but Craig was terrific, the supporting cast brought plenty of intensity, and both the action choreography and score were thumping. "Quantum of Solace" (2008) is the weakest instalment in James Bond series that were made with Daniel Craig. Still, despite it many shortcomings, it is a descent film to watch simply because of the excellent production values. Acting was solid, but not memorable. There are two - three good action sequences involving the opening chase, with boats and plane. The influence of then popular and commercially successful Jason Bourne movies is clearly visible in "Quantum of Solace". The editing wasn't good here - action set pieces are cut in a way it is hard to understand the logic. The villain was the least memorable of all James Bond movies. Script is a mess but it is understandable due to problems that they've had during production. Overall, off all 5 movies that were made with Daniel Craig, "Quantum of Solace" is most forgettable. Yet it is fun and somewhat entertaining due its excellent production values. Expected a tight follow-up, but the choppy editing and rushed plot honestly left me underwhelmed. What Worked: • Craig’s raw, grieving Bond is incredible. He totally sells the toll of revenge. • Camille isn’t just a love interest. Her vengeance gives much-needed emotional weight. • The practical stunts are impressive. That Siena rooftop chase pumped my adrenaline. The Friction: • The shaky-cam action was too chaotic. It totally ruined fights for me. • Greene’s water monopoly plot felt super weak to me compared to classic Bond threats. • It feels super rushed.
