Hotma Fani H @RT22527964 1 day ago The Girl in the River has a promising crime-thriller premise: twin sisters are kidnapped, one is found dead in the Mississippi River, while the other remains missing. Add a veteran detective duo and a young profiler trying to unravel the case in a small town full of suspicion. Unfortunately, the film feels like a thriller that's too busy trying to look mysterious without ever building genuine tension. Much of the story is predictable, while some of the twists left me wondering whether the movie actually knew where it was going from the start. Maggie Grace delivers one of the film's more solid performances as Amelia Pembrock, and the premise still has plenty of potential. But overall, The Girl in the River feels flat, cliché-ridden, and lacking an identity of its own. For me, this is the kind of movie you finish watching and immediately forget. Not because it's too terrible to sit through, but because it's simply too ordinary to leave any lasting impression. See more Rami M @RT18339067 2 days ago Well, the premise was good but it is all over the place, looking at suspect and dismissing the lab was sus from the beginning, the gotcha moment was very bad, as if it was a surprise, I guess it was bad writing, although acting was good. If you are in bored and wants something to watch in the background without paying attention, that is one. They’ve been in the business so long that more is expected. The story reaaally lacked originality. I pretty much knew the plot.
