Basically an artsy Lifetime channel movie. No wonder this sat on the shelf for so long. (Never heard of the novel) Gellar does her best with a hamfisted borderline nonexistent plot. There are some wonderful actors in this film, but you wouldnt k ow it because theyre reduced to staring out of windows and mumbling randomness. Waste of time, not even a rental. SKIP.
Just bad in so many ways.
One of the best books ive read and it sadly doesn't make a good film. It was an uneven mix, trying to be arty but given a Hollywood cast. Sarah Michelle Gellar isn't convincing enough and the love story angle is a bit wet. The end of the book hit like a punch here its done as a narration. Weak
telegraphed and heavy handed. Veronika decides to give away all plot points.
Feels like another lifetime film.
Great example of a terrific novel very poorly adapted to the screen.
Entertaining, slow movie. Good to see Sarah Michelle Gellar is always a treat.
this is just too fucking depressing.oh wait,it's based on a novel by Paulo Coelho...the amount of depression just went through the roof!!!
I was surprise with this film! turns out to be a pretty great one when you have nothing else to watch! Great cinematography too!
Mike decides this isn't a very good movie.
