Bad. So very bad. But no Plan 9 from Outer Space.

Stands in as one of Ed Wood's shitest films. Bad acting, bad script and just a dull and worthless movie. Although the camera quality is good enough (for an Ed Wood movie) i only recommend the MST3K version because the film is unwatchable on it's own.

Si tu prends le film au sérieux, il vaut un 1.5 étoiles. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à écouter ce film. :)

Teen rebellion became a massive issue in the 50's and "Rebel Without A Cause" created a stir both socially and commercially. So obviously, the indie studios wanted to cash in on the teen rebel craze. In came Ed Wood with a script of teen delinquent bad girls. It really doesn't make much sense, and there are serious inconsistencies, but that's what you should expect, right?

Like anyone who writes at Flixster (or anyone who reviews it after seeing it), the only thing noteworthy about this movie is that it was written by Ed Wood, and it shows. The Violent Years tells the story of a group of teenage gals who form a gang and go out to commit robbery, rape and murder, and the downward spiral that eventually follows. Not that you can really gauge this movie based on that description or get any real entertainment value out of it, but that's the gist of it. Even the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew tries their best to at least make it funny to watch, but alas, even they can't keep up with the poop flinging from the screen in great big clumps. Yeah, ok, that was disgusting, but so is the movie.

Very boring. The characters were uninteresting and the story didn't offer much. It's a decent movie to watch on MST3K though.

Scripted by Ed Wood, it's entertaining B-movie cheese. Fast-paced and slathered in ham-fisted moralizing about the responsibility of parenting and just how bad things have gotten these days, it doesn't quite reach the surreal heights of some of the best of these kinds of movies, but it's a good time for cult movie fans.
